1997 Ford Contour GL Sport - Starter Question

My husband is a maintenance tech and has done a lot of work on vehicles. However, he can't find the starter on this car. Could someone please tell us where it is located?

The battery is good, but the starter only clicks when we try to turn the car on.

Well, we don't know the engine size, 2.0L or 2.5L but the starters are in the same place, on the bell housing. First remove the air cleaner assy to better see it.
