This zetek engine makes an awful lot of lifter noise. How do I tell if they are pumping up? If they are working properly is there a shim that can be installed to take up any play? What else could make such a racket and still allow the car to run great?
Thanks,
Vince

Yes, I was out taking pictures of boats that day.

The first thing to check is the oil level and condition of oil, if black and sludgey, then you may have a galley blocked.

Hydraulic lifters use engine oil to pump up.

How often do you change oil?
