Smells problem
1995 Ford Contour 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

A coupole months ago I had my hoses for my coolant system changed out and had my thermostat replaced because my engine was overheating. My car has been fine until last week where the weather was in the upper 90s. It is cooler out now but my engine gauge reads that it is almost overheating, especially during stop and go traffic. The car doesn't smoke but when I turn on the air vents I get a strong smell of something burning. I am getting rid of the car in a month. I do not eant to put much money into it but at the same time I need it for work for the next month and do not care to get chronically sick by fumes. What do you think?

Are you running the AC?
I would suspect coolant fan
check coolant fan operation
check coolant level and adjust if needed
DO NOT open coolant system when engine hot or running
