1995 Ford Contour Air Conditioner

Air Conditioning problem
1995 Ford Contour 4 cyl 175, 00 miles

I have a 95 Ford Contuor that The compressor on the air conditioning will turn for 1 second and stop fpr 5 seconds continously without ever putting out any cold air> Any insight on this would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

You are low on R134a, recharge the system, low pressure cyling switch is turning it off!

The guage on the can says that it is charged to max. Could it be this switch that you are talking about? Where is it located? Thank you!

The switch is on the aluminum accumulator drier on the passenger side.

I had to look it up and see what this thing looks like and I did find a photo. There is something similar that is on the drivers side by the battery but I don't see a switch I see something plugged into the middle of the cannister. How would someone go about checking to see if the switch is bad and where is it located? Thanks so much!

Unplug it and use a wire to jump across the two leads, if the compressor stays on change the switch, and that is what it's called! Low pressure cycling switxh.
