The car started making a squealing noise especially when the car is started. It usually goes away after the car is being driven, but always begins when the car is first started.

Check the serpentine belt. It may be the culprit. You can remove the belt before you do a cold start and see if it still does it. It may be the idler pulleys for the timing belt too. This is why it helps to remove the serpentine since they are both located in roughly the same place. You would have trouble isolating the noise otherwise.
