Transmission problem
1988 Ford Bronco 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive 93,000 miles

The transmission started slipping and got worse the further I drove. I pulled into a store, checked the fluid level, it was very low. I looked under the Bronco to find a puddle dripping from the front of the transmission. I went into the store bought some ATF to replenish it. As I was filling it up it was coming out just as fast. I tried to see where it was coming from. It looked liked it was coming from the front of the transmission. My question is what is involved in taking off the pan and replacing the front seal, and what else could be leaking around the front of the transmission?

This is a large job 2 do there are 4 to 5 seals to change, your transmission has 2 come down, you have a seal between motor and trans, a seal on your transfer case output to your front drive, a rear seal on trans and your filter and gasket for pan all should be change to prevent future leakage if cost is a problem change the one between motor and trans where its leaking, others can be changed without dropping transmission you may consider while trans is off to change rear seal on motor will prevent future leakage and cost if motor starts to leak oil make sure you keep track of where everything is connected, also check your trans lines for loose fittings if there loose tighten up.
