When I pushed the switch to go up & tested the red wire I had power to the motor but when I pressed the switch down I had no power to either the red wire or yellow wire to motor. Is my switch bad or the tailgate motor? Can I run a jumper wire to the yellow wire to get the window to go down?

You might check the safety switch inside the tailgate on the driver's side. I will not allow the window to roll down if the tailgate is not shut. This small harness is connected to the latch on the driver's side. Just for testing purposes, you can disconnect it an jumper wire it and see if the window rolls down. If it's you motor, it probably just the torque pins located behind the gear on the motor, a cheap and easy fix, about eight bucks for the do it yourselfer.
