I found a 1986 Ford Bronco (Eddie Bauer-Inj V8-4X$) w/84,000 miles on it for my son. The AC doesn't work & they said we would have to change everything out because it is the old style & will be about $850. Will AC parts off of newer Ford pickup work? (Like from a wrecking yard?)

How handy are you? You can buy a kit for about 50-75 dollars to convert it to R-134a, the new refrigerant. Go to a good parts supply store.

I'm not a mechanic - but pretty handy with tools. They also told me the compressor is bad (leaking out). That is another reason about asking if other years will interchange?

You can go to the junk yard and ask. They have an interchange book and can tell you!
