I recently shattered my tailgate window. I have a couple questions. Which years have the same window? My next question pertains to bolting the window in. I have what I believe to be the factory mounting hardware. But I'm not sure if I have all of it. At any point should metal touch the window? Such as the tracks it bolts to. What for spacers or rubber should I be using? Also, if you could use technical terms, I'd appreciate it. I would rather use these terms when looking for parts.

Thanks,

Rob

Ok 78 and 79 are the only ones to interchange I do believe not 100% sure however as I do not have and interchange guide. Now I would call around to salvage or wrecking yards the window will come with the track that it attached to the window so no worries there. Now if you would like to replace the rubber or the felt in the channel then go to steele rubber product or LMC online and buy it there. Take off the panel on the inside and go from there.

I just just took my window out and here is the sequence
of parts, starting from the bottom with the tail gate open. No metal touches glass. Plastic cap with bolt sticking though window hole, window, plastic washer, domed metal washer with dome up, aluminum track, lock nut.
