I need to rebuild my steering column because the shifter does not lock into gear. I need step by step directions to replace the part that locks the shifter into gear.

You don't have to rebuild the column just eh shifter part. It's better that you have a manual because it gets way to lengthy to do this here. There is a 3 day manual availble on teh site here for around $10
