I keep getting a film on the inside of my windshield. I would also think that was the heater core going out, but I have a heater that is just burning hot. There's no fluid on the inside on my floor the passenger side and there is no nothing spraying on the outside windshield. My temperature gauge is not reflecting any increasing in temperature because of the water leaking out. So what do you think it could be? We do think there is an antifreeze smell but not sure.

Good morning,

You have a leaking heater core. It can still produce heat but still leak and the mist is the result.

The hard part is the dashboard has to be removed to access the heater case that holds the heater core.

I also do not suggest pressure testing the system as added pressure could make the leak go from a mist to a gush of fluid on the floor.

This job is not pretty. It is involved repair. Are you going to try this yourself?
