2006 FIAT STILO GRINDING NOISE IN THIRD GEAR

Transmission problem
2006 Fiat Stilo Front Wheel Drive Manual 70000 miles

when I go down the gears to 3rd there is a loud grinding noise as I slow but when I give sum accelarator it goes but jumps out of gear when I stop,
this is not happening in any other gear any help please?

The gearbox needs replacing or an overhaul !
