Faulty Air suspension?

Hello, I have an aftermarket air suspension installed on my Toyota Hilux truck. The issue I am having is when I press the button to put air in the bags, front and back, the air drops or depletes from the system like it would if I was pressing the actual buttons to lower the truck. This just started happening after a tropical storm so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it.

It sounds like the compressor stopped working can you hear it kick on when you hit the switch? I would check the fuses and the power and ground to the compressor motor. Here is more information on the problem.

If you're experiencing issues with your aftermarket air suspension system on your Toyota Hilux truck, where the air drops or depletes from the system when you press the button to add air, there could be a few potential causes:

Air leaks: Check the air lines, fittings, and connections in the system for any signs of leaks. The tropical storm you mentioned could have caused damage or dislodged something, leading to air leakage. Inspect the air bags, valves, and other components for any visible damage or loose connections. Repair or replace any damaged or faulty parts as needed.

Faulty compressor or pump: The air depletion issue could be related to a malfunctioning compressor or pump. If the compressor is not providing sufficient pressure or if there is an internal issue, it can result in air loss when trying to fill the air bags. Inspect the compressor or pump for any signs of damage or abnormal operation. Consider having it tested or replaced if necessary.

Electrical issues: Check the electrical connections and wiring related to the air suspension system. Ensure that all connections are secure and that there are no loose or damaged wires. Faulty wiring or electrical connections can cause intermittent operation or unexpected air loss. If any issues are found, repair or replace the wiring and connections as required.

Control module or switches: The control module or switches that regulate the air suspension system may have malfunctioned. Verify that the control module is receiving power and functioning correctly. Inspect the switches and buttons for any signs of damage or improper operation. If necessary, consider having the control module or switches tested and replaced by a qualified technician.

Sensor issues: The air suspension system relies on sensors to detect the vehicle's height and adjust the air levels accordingly. If a sensor is not functioning correctly or is giving inaccurate readings, it can cause unexpected air depletion. Check the sensors for any damage or misalignment and ensure they are properly connected. Calibrate or replace any faulty sensors if needed.

Please let us know what happens.

Hello Ken,

I ended up finding the issue by inspecting the air tank under the truck. There was a plastic air line connector that was brittle and broke off at the connection point. I found a replacement at the hardware store and installed it. Truck is allowing air to fill the bags and holding air!
