faint whirring noise

On acceleration or deceleration there is a faint whirring noise that is not tire related. No codes are found in the shop. It almost sounds like a gyro winding up and slowing down. It is heard more at lower speed ten to fifteen mph.

In my experience, CVT transmissions tend to whine some. Here is a Wikipedia article on CVT's: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continuously_variable_transmission

Basically, it is probably normal. You could ask the dealership to let you test drive another Murano and see if it makes the same noise. I will bet it does.
