Engine is extremely loud

Juat yesterday I started my car and it is extremely loud. The check engine light is on in the top left corner. It does not say check engine but is a picture. The car gets louder when I press the gas pedal.

Can you get a video of this so we can hear it? But I suspect this is the exhaust has failed. Either the catalytic converter or the muffler has a hole in it. Hearing this noise will surely help us pin point it because this has a distinct noise but from what you say, it sure sounds like it. Thanks
