I would like to find an exhaust that will make my car sound meaner and louder, but I do not want to over due it and I do not want to make it sound like a fart box.

Look for a good catalytic converter back system. Exhaust in itself does not do much especially on a small four cylinder. I would also check the warranty, some have some odd provisions that void warranties for what some think are "minor" modifications. Being a 2017 there may not be very many good systems out there yet.
