Greetings, please I need help for my car. The steering is heavy and EPS light is on the dash board. My technician advised me to get another EPS control unit which I got from the same model of the car but from a diesel car. The problem still the same and my technician advise I get another EPS control with a matching parts number for it to activate the rack. This is diagnosis result.
1. A problem with circuit torque sensor Amp.
2. A problem with voltage for torque sensor VT3 and VT6.
3. Excessive charge of the vehicle speed sensor signal.
4. A problem with the engine speed signal circuit.
5. A problem with the motor voltage.
6. Fail -safe relay.
Please what can I do to fix this? It is driving me crazy. Solomon from Nigeria.

If you are saying the power steering is not right, check the fluid and belt. When it is running listen to see if you can hear any loud humming noise coming from the power steering unit. If there is a load humming coming from the power steering pump that may be the problem.

Sorry, EPS (electric power steering). When you remove or replace parts the system needs to be re-initiated (reprogrammed) at a shop or dealer. Should cost about $140.00 (us).

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken

Sorry about that. I was still thinking old school. My wife has a 2011 Hybrid Civic, she had problems with the front making noise. Thought it was the bushings for the struts but found out it was making the noise in the inside of the steering rack.
