My engine will not crank over when I turn key. All lights and A/C turn on but motor does not crank over at all. I replaced battery and starter solenoid and no change. I am thinking of changing ignition switch next. I am needing help.

Hi DELTOROGREG

Welcome to 2CarPros. Com! How are you doing? Is there any history of crankshaft position replacement? The engine will not start or crank if the CKP sensor is faulty. Please take note that the ignition switch can be at fault as well that is why it will not start. But it is best to check and have the CKP sensor replaced first to resolve the issue. Thank you for choosing 2CarPros. Com, I will be standing by for your response.

Regards,

Relly

I have never replaced the CKP sensor. And I do have the service engine soon light on. It is my only truck I have for work so I turn it on with a screwdriver off the starter solenoid and drive it for mean time. I already bought the ignition switch, I will try that and try CKP sensor next. Thanks for your help.

Forgot to mention that my truck does not even make the intent to crank at all. Key just goes forward and nothing happens. It does not keep cranking and cranking and does not turn on. I turn key forward and nothing happens, just lights turn on on dash and A/C turns on.

If you can turn the vehicle by jumping the starter solenoid then there is no need to replace the CKP sensor. Looks like that you need to put in that ignition switch you purchased to resolve the issue.
