Hi, I have a 2001 f250 that need the engine replaced. I was given a 5.4L triton and its from a 2004, can I transfer the 2001 intake manifold, throttle body and other engine parts to the 2004 engine? Or will I need to replace things like the fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel injector rail and some electrical parts. Thanks, Ethan

Yes, you can use the 2004 5.4L Triton long block in your 2001 F-250 IF you transfer all of your 2001 top-end and front accessories onto the 2004 engine.

The long-block (block + heads + rotating assembly) is compatible.

BUT:

Intake manifold
Throttle body
Fuel rail
Injectors
Coils
Wiring harness
Front dress (alternator/brackets)
Exhaust manifolds
. . .must all come from the 2001 engine.

Here is the video series that can help you will the job.

No need to replace fuel lines or fuel pump. The 2004 fuel system will work with the 2001 truck as long as you use the 2001 fuel rail + injectors.

Let us know if you need anything else.
