I recently got my new car back after three weeks due to a deer strike. When I start the engine after it has been sitting a while I hear a gurgling sound coming from the engine compartment seeming to come from near the firewall area. There is no fluid leaking and it seems that the engine temperature gauge shows the display to be nearer to the middle than what I remember. What could the problem be?

Hi,

Was the radiator replaced? If it was, there could be air still in the system. The heater core hoses sit near the firewall. Check to see if the heater is working properly and let me know.

Also, there is an air bleed hose on the coolant reservoir. See pic 1 below. Make sure it isn't kinked, damaged, pinched, and the coolant level is appropriate.

Never open the coolant system when the vehicle is how. Wait until it fully cools off.

Let me know.

Joe
