Engine replacement?

Hello! I have the vehicle listed above that I absolutely love but it’s got about 320,000 miles, and I don’t want to let it go. I was wondering (I don’t know too terribly much about the internal parts of cars) if I could swap the engine for one that has about 50,000 miles on it. I don’t plan on selling it, ever, so I don’t mind it not matching my odometer or have to worry about the headache of explaining the situation to a potential buyer. I’m starting a new job that is about 50 minutes away and I want to make sure I have a reliable car that I love to drive without having to buy a whole entire car. I would love any helpful info for this decision!

Hi,

If the replacement engine is from the same year, make, and model, and it is the same size, you can switch them.

Is the engine in the vehicle causing problems? I ask because highway driving is easy on an engine, and you may get a lot more out of the present engine.

The current engine isn’t causing me any issues but with that many miles, I wanted to get ahead of the problem. I live in the cut where I have a good bit of country roads before I get to the highway.

Hi,

I understand. If you continue to maintain the present engine, you should be okay for a while. However, I understand your concerns. If it gets to the point you want to replace the engine, I attached the directions below. I hope they help.
