Changes Water Pump, Intake Manifold gasket, cam sensor, Injectors, Coils, spark plugs, cleaned valves. Starts up like a champ, fuel economy still good even with EPC, faults etc. Need help.

Hi,

Is that the only code that is present? Can you feel the misfire? If you erase the code, does it come right back?

Let me know that. A misfire can be the result of several things. If you don't feel it or barely feel it, there may be an issue with low compression in cylinder three. Also, a poor connection at an injector or coil can cause it. That's why I was asking if the code returns.

Since you have already replaced everything for that specific cylinder, the next thing to check is if there is a compression issue.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

If you look below, I attached the directions specific to this vehicle. Additionally, the manufacturer's pressure specifications are indicated (highlighted).

Let me know what you find.

Joe

Yes, I did reset, and it came back. I ran it yesterday. It felt sluggish as if not enough air was being supplied. I replaced all new coil connectors. I will try compression, but I know when I was running it before I made changes it still had power. Do you think bad compression will allow to keep power? The only thing I’m wondering about is the actual plastic Intake manifold with the fuel rail. Could that be a culprit?

Hi,

If there is a leak at the intake, sure that can cause an issue. If you suspect there could be one, here is a link that explains how to check:

Low compression will cause a power loss. However, to what degree the loss will be experienced is based on how much of a loss there is.

Let me know.
