Motor ran hot, fixed the overheating problem. Battery drained, charged it up. Now won't crank. I turn the key and it just quickly stops.

When you crank the engine over does the security light flash? If so, let's reset the security system: To reset the alarm on a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, you can try the following steps:

Use the Key Fob:

Stand close to your vehicle.
Press the "Lock" button on your key fob.
Wait a few seconds, and then press the "Unlock" button on your key fob.
Unlock the Driver's Door with the Key:

Insert your key into the driver's side door lock and turn it to the right to unlock the door.
Disconnect the Battery:

If the alarm is still sounding and you can't turn it off using the key fob or the door lock, you can try disconnecting the car battery.
Open the hood of your vehicle.

Locate the car battery, which is typically on the driver's side of the engine compartment.
Use a wrench or pliers to disconnect the negative terminal (black cable) from the battery. This will interrupt the power supply to the alarm system.
Wait for a few minutes, then reconnect the negative terminal.

If this doesn't work, I would try a system reboot.
