It was suggested I change the coolant temp sensor which I did. I also had installed new plugs which got sooty so I cleaned them up. Everything was fine for a couple of days--ran good and peppy. Than the problem of loading up and sooty exhaust came back. Any ideas would be appreciated

Scan fr codes and check fuel pressure is this fuel injected or carb? I tmakes a big difference if carb check for a blown gasket beneath base of carb.

It's EFI ----I don't think its a fuel pressure problem because it will run just fine at times----when it's cold it may idle rough but then run smooth.
Thanks, Denny
