Have been having decreased performance since a friend ran a tank of 87 or two while borrowing it.
I used STP fuel system cleaner 5 oz with Shell v power nitro full tank and problems of decreased power and engine skipping and jumping transmission went away.
Added Chevron 91 supreme and issues all came back.
Engine light came on.
Added a thing of Techron fuel system cleaner today and some 91 Chevron.
Still feels like fuel intake not clean.
Only added 4 gallons on top and had 3.5 fresh ones under.
Will likely go down the hill I live on and add some shell v power nitro 3-5 gallons later today.
Before when engine light came on it felt like after running with system cleaner the plain 91 with Techron was to dirty or something.
Now with slightly over half tank and full of Chevron it feels like too much cleaner.
This based on the way the car was expressing the problems.
With no cleaner it was very grindy feeling and jumpy.
Post cleaner it feels like it’s lagging but not as much jolting.

I would continue to run premium without any additives for at least 5 more tank fulls and reset the keep alive memory in the engines computer with a scanner. Too many additives can compound the problem, the engines computer is trying to re adapt to the way you normally fill it up and putting additives is not normal (even though I love Techron). Just clear the memory/adaptations and fill it up and drive it like you always have and things should return to normal. Now if it is still acting crazy then we can begin with scanning for codes, looking at fuel trims, etc. Looking at fuel trims at this point will have you chasing your tail because additives can have a high alcohol content and give a false lean fuel trim reading. Let us know how things are going!

Thanks BMdouble.
Would you recommend filling the tank up to top now then so it balances the Techron I added?
I did a little engine revving after the fill up right before engine light came on, that was probably dumb.
I don’t know how to clear the memory/adaptations in this 2008 it doesn’t have as much on board computer access.
I got the scan for the codes from sprint drive which is on board WiFi device plugged in below steering wheel.

You can just unplug the battery for 3 minutes to reset the keep alive memory. Run the tank down with the fuel that’s in it now as low as you can without running completely out then refill.
