We got the car and the same day the engine light flashes and traction control light comes on when going between 60-70MPH. We took it to a garage, and they ran a diagnostic and said there were no problems noticed.
We had the air filter cleaned and have been told that it lacks power from this area. What does this all mean and what could the fault be?

Most of the time when this happens mean one of the bearing hubs is going out and can read the wheel speed sensor at higher speeds. Did the shop run a scan on the ABS system? This is where the problem will be. Do you notice a slight humming sound when driving at that speed as well? This might be tough to find because the system goes back to normal at slower speeds. You might to have the someone ride in the car with the scanner that can read the wheel speeds watch as the warning light comes on to see if one of the wheels stopped giving a reading.
