Engine grind

When I turn the ignition there is engine grind.

Hi Jaime,

A recording of the noise may help just so are sure to be on the same page.

However, it sounds like the starter gear is grinding because if I understand correctly, you turn the key, there is a grinding noise but the engine does not turn over?

If this is the starter then I attached the process to replace it. However, if you can get a video so we can hear the noise, that will help us confirm this. Thanks

The starter is brand new. I don’t want to turn key on for too long because of this noise. It sounds like it is coming from cylinder 2 side of the engine.

Does the engine actually start and run and you hear a loud grinding noise or is it when it is cranking?
