Engine cranks but no start and no security light indicating Passlock fault...?

Drilled out old lock cylinder and replaced with new one a few days ago when it locked up and we couldn't get it started. After I re-keyed and installed new cylinder, it started up for me a few times before seizing up again. I removed the whole ignition housing unit and messed around with it till I could get the new cylinder out (in one piece) and figured out the mechanics causing it to seize. Now I can get it to turn over but it will not start. No code besides P0480 and no security light comes on indicating a Passlock problem. Stuck and looking for a little insight before I buy more parts.

Yeah sir. Besides the cylinder giving us trouble somethings, it never had trouble starting. A few things I forgot to mention is when I try to start the vehicle I can hear the pump running and afterwards the smell of fuel is strong.

Have you tried spraying a little carb spray into the throttle then see if it starts ?Also have you tried holding the gas pedal all the way to floor while starting it?

Turned out the passload module was bad. Replaced the ignition housing and then did the relearn procedure and she fired up. Thanks though.

All the ones with a bad pass lock sensor I have seen on those cars turns on the security light when it doesn't start.Without a very advanced scan tool you couldn't have seen the trouble code in the body control module the bad pass lock sensor sets.

In the process of removing a seized up lock cylinder, the passlock failed completely. Then the passlock sensor couldnt communicate with the bcm, consequently making it difficult to diagnose. Luckily I had a gut feeling about it.

Yeah the newer cars really need a lot more advanced scan tool to help diagnose them with the more and more computers they add to cars.
