I replaced the valve cover gasket on the car listed above.
Based on the pictures I attached, would you tell me if I have to do anything to prolong engine life?

Hi,

Based on the mileage and what I see, all I can say is keep doing what you have been doing. It looks clean, especially for the mileage.

The one ticket is keeping the engine oil changed on a regular basis and using a quality oil filter. Also, make sure to keep the PCV clean and operating and the air filter clean.

Let me know if you have other questions, let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Thank you very much. I did exactly what you suggest change the PCV valve, air filter, and oil. I'm wondering do I need to do anything about the carbon deposit and fuel injector cleaning?

Hi,

If you are not experiencing anything as far as a rough idle or poor running conditions, chances are the internal components are okay. Maybe I'm just old school, but I was taught many years ago, that if it isn't broken, don't fix it. LOL I am one who isn't really crazy about internal carbon products. Yes, they do work, but I have seen where they fix one issue and cause a different one.

The injectors can be serviced by simply adding a quality injector with a tank of fuel. There are many good ones to use. Over the years, the most commonly used one that I have heard success with is Sea Foam. It is actually designed to clean the entire intake system. Here is a link I found that you may find of interest:

https://seafoamworks.com/knowledge-base/how-to-use-sea-foam-in-fuel/

Please understand that neither our site nor I have any involvement with the aforementioned product. I don't want you to think I get a kickback or something. LOL

Let me know your thoughts on the video in that link. Also, let me know if I can help in any way.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

I think you could try using an intake and valve cleaner. It wouldn't hurt. There are several brands. From experience, I always recommend either seafoam or CRC products.

Let me know if that helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Hi Joe,

I did exactly what you suggested intake and valve cleaner.
A few positive results have accomplished:
idle stable before it was not.
Better pick up.
Engine making less noise while idling.
Great accomplishment easy to do, inexpensive and could be done by anybody thanks to you.

However, I have another question if you don't mind.
When I press the unlock button at the driver's door only the driver's door unlocked 80% of the time, however when I press the lock button all doors are locked all the time. I replaced Lock Actuator Front Passenger Side on 9/2021.
As always, I appreciate your opinion.

Vlad.

Hi,

That sounds more like a switch issue rather than the actuator. However, I need to ask a favor. I need you to start a new thread on this topic. I ask because we try to keep the threads specific to one topic. That way, it is more helpful to others.

I hope you understand and thank you for the update. I'm glad to hear it's running better.

Here is a link to start a new thread. Just copy and paste your new question.

Again, I hope you understand.

Take care,

Joe

Hi Joe,

Regarding carbon build-up, what's your opinion on oil catch can tank?
As always, I appreciate your advice.

Hi,

Vlad, I'm sorry but I'm not familiar with one. Do you have a picture of one that I could see? I may recognize it.

Let me know.
