Engine and transmission swap

I have a 4.8 v8 in my truck listed above that needs to be replaced. I have a friend with a GM Tech rebuilt 5.3 he says is in great shape with 50,000 since the rebuild. The body of his vehicle is too rusty and has transmission issues. Will the transmission from the 4.8 fit the 5.3?

Hello,

It will depend on the transmission that is equipped on each vehicle. They do use similar transmission. But some had the 4L60 others had the 4L80
So as long the transmissions are the same, they will fit.

If you are unable to figure out the transmission model number, you can call your local Chevrolet dealer and provide them with the VIN for both trucks. They can look up and tell you the exact part number for each one.
