Car has a knocking sound and gets louder when I step on gas. What could it be and what is the cost to repair it? Is it worth fixing? Please help.
It was low on oil when knocking started. But I added four quarts. Now it is not as loud but still knocks.

If you had to add four quarts of oil to the engine then there was no oil in the engine. It sounds like you most likely spun a rod bearing. Your best bet for repair would be a used engine. Let me get you a guide to help you along.

Hello,

Can you check to see if you have a loose spark plug? That is what it sounds like to me.

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken
