PURCHASED 2007 TOYOTA YARIS S SEDAN SIX YEARS AGO WITH NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. RECENTLY, I DROVE TO A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT AND AS SOON AS I PARKED, THE A/C, AND THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING. ALSO THE POWER WINDOW AND THE KEY BEEPER. WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO LEAVE ALSO NOTICED THE P/S SYMBOL ON MY DASH AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS HARD TO TURN.I TRIED TO RELEASE THE SHIFT FROM PARKING AND IT WOULDN'T BUDGE SO I PUSHED THE RELEASE BUTTON. AFTER A FEW CHECKS ON RELAYS AND FUSES, FOUND NOTHING. THEN I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND CONNECTED BACK AND EVERYTHING WENT BACK TO NORMAL. FIVE DAYS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN BUT THIS TIME FOR A MOMENT AND THE BATTERY SYMBOL WENT ON A FEW SECONDS AND THEN OFF. HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO TAKE IT FOR SERVICE SINCE THERE IS NO SERVICE CODE OR CHECK ENGINE SYMBOL AND IT WORKS FINE.

Seems like you have a possible power supply interruption somewhere intermittently and such problems are not easy to diagnose unless you are able to perform testings when it occurs,

Check the connections under the fuse box for poor connections. Have a DVOM handy. When problem occurs, use the DVOM to test the power supply from battery to main fuses and fusible links.

Thanks for the info! I thought the same thing, just haven't checked it with a multimeter yet, i'll get on to it before it happens again.

Found the problem! Just don't know what its called. I think its a fusible link located at the positive battery terminal. I think I can repair it but really need to replace it. If anyone knows the name or part number please reply, will appreciate very much!

Hello sir, this is my first time in a forum so please forgive me if I screw it up. I really need your help. I have ran to the same problem with my 2007 toyota yaris. The only thing I did not do was disconnect the battery and reconnect it. How were you able to fix the problem? A mechanic looked at my car today and wants to charge me $300 for identifying the problem, he says is the junction box and wants to replace it and charge me $1200 for the whole job!
Once again how did you find out what the problem was? And how did you fix it. Thank you for all your help.

Respectfully

Henry

A power supply connection is loose somewhere and one way of testing is to use a DVOM to check for missing links. Try tugging lightly at the fusible links attached to the battry positive terminal and checking to see if things stops working.
