My car has a knocking problem 30 minutes after the engine started.
I watched YouTube for my car knocking problem and found EGR valve problem.
I tried to find EGR valve but couldn't find it.
There is no information for EGR valve location, and YouTube video was for new model that after 2000.
Please advise me where is the EGR valve located.

Hi,

The Honda City wasn't offered in the US, so I don't have the specifics. However, I will try my best to help.

If you look below, that is the EGR location on a 1998 Civic 1.6L. I suspect it would either be the same or similar on the City.

Let me know. Also, let me know what size engine you have.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

I tried finding a picture of one for this vehicle, but like you, I was unsuccessful.

Here is what I can tell you. In most vehicles, the EGR valve is located on the intake manifold. The valve allows exhaust from the exhaust system to reenter the engine for re-burning. Check to see if there is anything on the intake. Also, if you could, take a few pics of the engine and upload them for me to see. Take pics from the top of the engine looking downward. Hopefully, I'll be able to recognize it.

Also, here is a quick video that shows how one is checked. I wanted to add it because it shows a different EGR design.
