Hi,

If you look below, I attached two pics. The first one is to confirm I got the correct connector. The second one is the pinout for the connector.

Let me know if that helps. Also, let me know what codes you are getting. I may be able to point you in the right direction or at least put together diagnostics for you.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Thank you for the pics. I have been getting a wrench light and multiple sensor low input codes. I am losing the 5-volt reference voltage. Map sensor is one of a few sensors affected. I narrowed it down to this connector. After a few more tests I will post the final results.

With key on engine off and connector removed, I get. Pin1= o volts pin 2=5 volts pin 3= 5 volts pin 4=12 volts pin 5= 5 volts pin 6= 0 volts. Key off pin removed pin 1 through 5 high ohm reading which I think is good. Pin 6 reads short to ground. Wiring looks good but pin 6 does go to other sensors. Not sure how the whole EGR module should work. Any advice would be appreciated. Note: EGR was replaced 6 months ago. Also, should pins 3 and 5 show 5 volts even when the connector is pulled?

Hi,

I don't feel you should have power from the sensor inputs. Any input sensor signal is to provide information to the powertrain control module so it can output information such as air/fuel mixture or fuel injection as examples to other sensors.

With the sensor disconnected, that shouldn't be. That is power back to the PCM. As far as pin 6 (signal ground) that is an isolated ground provided via the PCM, so that is normal.

Your reference voltages seem to be correct. When you checked pin 6, was there any resistance to ground? I'm wondering if the PCM ground may be weak.

Let me know.

Joe

Pin 6 was 0 ohms like a dead short to ground. So, I am assuming with reference voltage on pin 3 and 5 with the plug disconnected I am looking at a bad PCM? I will check the grounds tomorrow.

Hi,

It is very possible. Let me know what you find as far as grounds. I'm interested in knowing.

Take care,

Joe
