After replacing the battery it will start but will not stay running

Battery drained after eleven years so I replaced it. When I installed the battery and went to start car I can hear the fuel pump and car will try to start and sometimes tries to start but runs at most one second then shuts off. It is like the computer is not talking to the fuel system.

It sounds like the computer needs to relearn. Can you take it for a drive by using both feet one on the brake the other and the gas to keep the engine running?
