Hi,

How big was the piece of plastic? The only thing you need to worry about is if it gets into and blocks an oil passage. If you dropped this into the valve cover, it is unlikely it will go anywhere other than settling down somewhere on top of the head.

If it were me, I would just remove the valve cover and get it out. Clearly it should not be in there so if it is possible to get it out, I would do that. Best case scenario it makes it way down into the oil pan and just stays in there because it cannot be picked up through the oil pick up. Again, this would not be good if it blocks an oil passage because then that portion of the engine could be starved of oil which will cause that portion to overheat and fail.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks

Okay. It will probably be okay but again, if possible take the valve cover off and get it out. Thanks
