DPF cleaner

I accidentally picked up and used DPF cleaner for my car (was next to the Diesel cleaner REDEX Stuff. Didn't think, saw diesel and assumed. Will this have any bad affects on my car? I don't think I have a DPF but from what I have read it just increases soot burn off.

Hi Newbieaudi,

Which product exactly did you buy? Some of those are not meant to be run through the engine. Some (most) are meant to be sprayed directly into the DPF.

If this product was meant to be put into the fuel tank, you should be fine but I would recommend filling your tank with fuel just to dilute it as much as possible. Those that are meant to run through the engine, it will go through yours but instead of it having a chemical reaction in the DPF it will just blow out the tail pipe.

However, if it was meant to go in the DPF directly, you will want to drain your tank ASAP.
