Interior dome, map and courtesy lights died after leaving rear hatch open overnight a few years ago. Dash lights and headlights all other functions are good. Can I replace GEM to solve problem?

Does this GEM module have to be programmed, or just swapped out with proper matching unit? (2002 Ford Escape XLT 6cyl. 4WD)
Thanks again
