1998 Dodge Ram 3500 Quad cab Dually 5.9 24 valve diesel. 150,000 miles. My tires wear out within 10 to 14 thousand miles on the rear. It has done this with 4 sets of tires. When I put the current set on I changed the oil and put the additive in the rear end. Could this problem be caused from rearend being locked in positive traction all the time and if so what causes this and how can I fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Are you rotating them every 5-6000 miles?

Any heavy loads?

Are they wearing evenly? Choppy? Edgewear? Centerwear?

Yes, I have been rotating them. They are wearing even thats what puzzles me. I've pulled a camper just a couple of times, but other than that no heavy loads.

What size tire?

What brands including the model name are they that you have used?

There is a treadwear rating on the sidewall also, what is it?

It will be a 440 or 400, 320 kind of number.
