The truck was over heating, Seemed to be the water pump, made noise, and if you moved the fan it would move up and down.I removed the pump, went to NAPA, bought a new one, was told by the NAPA guy the old pump was shot.I also replaced the thermostat. But it back together, the truck ran, hot also had no heat. Went and got a second thermostat, put it in.I let the truck run for 30 min never overheated, had real good heat in the cab. Today she goes to work, drives about 20 miles and its running real hot. Turns the heat on and the truck run ok, the gauge is in the middle. When she gets home with the truck, I check the fan and its running ok.I remove the radiator cab, and some antifreeze comes out with air bubbles. With the truck running it don't seem to me that the water in the radiator is moving real good? Can the pump be bad?Can the thermostats be bad?I thought I might have had the thermostat in wrong, so I put it in the other way, no heat in the cab, lower hose does not get hot, truck gets real hot.I guess I hade it in right the first time, so way is it still running hot?

I dont know about on yor truck but on m y jeep anytime I do anything I actually have to remove the top radiator hose from the radiator and with the truck running fill the the coolant through the hose because some times it gets an air pocket and and will not let the the fluid circulate. Like I said you may not have the same problem but it is something you could try
