CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) SENSOR Removal CKP sensor is located on left rear side of engine block, near starter. Disconnect both negative battery cables. Remove starter. Disconnect electrical connector at CKP sensor. Remove CKP sensor mounting bolt and hold-down bracket. Pull CKP sensor from engine block with a twisting motion. Installation Install NEW "O" ring on CKP sensor. Lubricate "O" ring with engine oil. Install CKP sensor into engine block using a twisting motion. Install mounting bracket and bolt. Tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS. Install starter. Connect battery cables.
