This is a truck that I am thinking about getting and everthing on the truck is fine, but when I went to test drive it after about 30 miles the check engine light came on and when it got up to about 75 mph I heard a kind of clacking of metal coming from under the hood. I only heard this noise when I stepped on the gas. It does not make the sound in Idle or at lower speeds. What could this noise be and do you think that it is big problem.

P.S. A Donation will be made depending on the answer that I recieve. I did this on another website and all they did was ask me a different question.

Don't buy the truck! It could have a several problems from the mounts, u joint, or some of the steering mechs.

But why does it only make the noise when I step on the gas. If it had something to do with the struts or any thing that delt with the stering it would do it all the time. This clacking only happens at high speeds and when I press on the gas.

Koby has a good point. Don't buy the truck unless you want it for a project truck. The fact that the check engine light came on is a major concern for a buyer.

Have a reputable mechanic thoroughly check the truck out before you buy, especially the drivetrain and steering like koby said. Pay specail attention to the health of the engine.
