1997 Dodge Truck oil filler cap on valve cover

1997 Dodge Truck V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 118 K miles

I have a stripped cap on my valve cover, I tried lifting and turning then pulling up and turning, the cap spun with no resistance. It is plastic and I think the mechanic over tightened it last oil change. Do I have to take the valve cover off

First if you dont pay they will not answer you. Second the cap is plastic go buy a new one and then either cutoff the old one or drill it or pry it off carefully the last mechanic is not going to go to the trouble of pulling the cover why should you. Again CAREFULLY remove the old one.
