1994 Dodge Truck

My 94 dodge truck has been acting weird lately. When I accalurate over 3000 rpms and go to stop the truck idles down so low it want to shut off but when it comes to a complete stop it idles back up to normal but it has a rich smell coming out of the exhaust, what can it be?

Hi:
The problem could be a throttle position sensor, O2 sensor. What I recommend is having the computer scanned for trouble codes. Most parts stores will do it for free and then we'll know what dorection to go in.
