Stuck in 2nd gear

98 dodge stratus, auotmatic trans, shifts fine, untill closed loop occurs, ck eng light on and will not down shift or upshift from 2nd gear. I added a can of trans X. And that did nothing to improve the trans. My feeling is a speed senser or other computer related failure, the car has 115,000 miles on it

Check the transmission pack, I changed mine with same symptons, its not that hard but you have to have patience, on my 2.4 1996 its on the right side front near tranny, good luck Declan.

Check input and output speed sensors. Usually they will have metal shavings stuck to the ends (their magnetic) howver I suggest replacing both of them.
