I have a 2001 Dodge Stratus, 120k miles. I went to turn on the headlights one morning and they would not come on. A friend of mine slightly shook the cables connecting to the headlight area and they came on. They stayed on for several weeks now the cable shaking has become a daily occurrence. My vehicle did not pass inspection for this reason. I have had the vehicle looked at by two different mechanics. Both said something different. Do you know what it could be?

I had a similar issue occur, except I was so lucky to have a wire to shake 
I had to take my headlight fuse out.
It turned out to be the Multifunction Switch, located in the steering, blinker switch area.
