2001 Dodge Stratus Oil leak around new valve cover gasket

I recently had replaced the valve cover gasket with a new OEM gasket from NAPA. Three days later it begin to leak worse than the old one I replaced. I started to put silcone gasket putty at first, but I noticed the old one didn't have anything on it but the gasket. In addition, someone mentioned that the bolts should have been torqued in a sequential order. Please Advise!

When you torque the bolts, you should start from the inside and go out, so, you would start with the two middle ones, the one on the top and the one on the bottom and work your way out from both sides, I hope I explained that so you could understand, if you have anymore questions, dont hesitate. Make sure they are torqued nice and tight

When replacing the valve cover gaskets you'll notice how hard the old one is, so you need to clean out the inlet on cover as best as you can. Then get some high heat gasket sealent and put some all the way around the cover inlet, then put gasket in, and lastly with your finger glaze the gasket again. And as the other guy said its like a kriss cross patern from inner side out, gradually tighten one after the next, intill snug.
