Engine Mechanical problem
1999 Dodge Stratus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 85600 miles
Well you guys walked through the valve cover replacement of a 2.4L engine so hopefully you can help me with this one.
We decided to purchase a second Stratus, this time it is the 2.5L V6, I bought it knowing it needed a valve cover replacement and I figured it wouldn't be too different from the 4. Well the engine configuration is a totally different beast, with a lot more wires/hoses/sensors to contend with. Can someone help me out with a walkthrough on this one?
Release fuel pressure.
Disconnect fuel line.
Disconnect MAP and intake air temperature sensor connectors.
Disconnect negative cable from auxiliary jumper terminal.
Remove plenum support bracket bolt located to rear of MAP sensor.
Remove bolt holding air inlet resonator to intake manifold.
Loosen throttle body air inlet hose clamp.
Release snaps holding air cleaner cover and inlet hoses from engine.
Disconnect TPS and idle air control motor connectors.
Squeeze retainer tab on throttle cable and slide cable out of bracket.
Slide cruise control cable out of bracket, if equipped.
Remove EGR tube from intake manifold. Remove plenum support bracket bolt, located to rear of EGR tube. Remove 7 bolts retaining upper intake plenum, and remove plenum.
