1995 Dodge Stratus runs good when cold then sputters someti

I brought it to pep boys and had it diagnosted. They said it was the distributor.I just looking for 2nd opinion. If it is the dist. I call junk yard and found one off a 96 dodge stratus. Would that work on my 95. I would buy a new one, but money is tight. Ineed your opinion on that to.

Do you have the diagnostic trouble codes that pep boys, gave you? Without that we cant tell you anything, because we dont know what the car is doing wrong.

The car showed no trouble codes, so they scoped it and said the coil was bad. They said coil was built into dist, so would have to buy new cap and dist. The car sputters, then gathers back up and runs alright. At stop lights sometimes just falls on face sputtering.

Finally an honest diagnosis, you dont know how many times I hear false diagnosis, just based on trying to make money off of the motorist. I say this is the mostlikely cause of your trouble.
