I have a 2004, Dodge Ram 1500 4WD, 60,000 miles, 5.7 liter. I just changed the tranny fluid and filter. Upon filling with fluid, running the truck, shifting thru all gears, the tranny still does not respond. I was told by one source that I may need to get the computer reprogrammed. Any help?

First thing to do is to get line pressure readings from te trans. Don't use a typical oil pressure gauge since trannys can built in excess of 200 psi. If you have good line pressure (85-130 psi) then it may be electrical. Either it is a solenoid in the trans or the Transmission Control Module. If you need other questions answered, give us a shout and we'll go from there.

Your truck has a 45RFE transmission. It uses two filters. There is a sump filter that goes directly to the pump. The other is spin-on type for the cooler. When you installed the sump filter, did you install the gasket all of the way? If you didn't the pump will not be able to pick up any fluid and the vehicle will not move.
